Remote Start enables you to remotely start your vehicle from virtually anywhere. Users can also enable climate control remotely, and for some models even turn on the Rear-window defroster remotely, ensuring a warm or cool car is ready to go when you are.

Remember:

  • Remote Start with Climate Control will automatically shut off after 10 minutes or after the selected engine timer runs out.
  • While this feature is active, the parking lights will blink until the vehicle is turned off or when the vehicle is in operation.
  • To continue the operation of the vehicle, the proximity key must be inside the vehicle with the driver prior to pressing the brake and being able to move the gearshift from the P (Park) position.

Preconditions:

  • Ignition is OFF
  • The alarm is armed (i.e., vehicle locked by key fob Remote Door Lock)
  • The gearshift level is in the P (Park) position
  • The brake pedal is not depressed
  • The engine hood is securely closed
  • All the doors are closed and locked
  • The tailgate or trunk lid is closed
  • The security/panic system is not activated
  • The battery power is not low
  • The vehicle is located in an open area

Please check local and state regulations for any requirements and restrictions on the remote starting of vehicles and engine idling time.

WARNING!
Do not remote start the vehicle in an enclosed environment (i.e., a closed garage). Prolonged operation of a motor vehicle in an enclosed environment can cause a harmful build-up of carbon monoxide. Carbon monoxide is harmful to your health. Exposure to high levels of carbon monoxide can cause headaches, dizziness, or in extreme cases unconsciousness and/or death. Do not leave children or animals unattended in a vehicle while using the remote start function.

CAUTION!
If the vehicle’s windshield wipers are left on when the vehicle was last driven, then the wipers will turn on if the remote start function is activated. To avoid damage to the wiper blades (i.e., due to heavy ice or snow accumulated on the windshield), please always turn the vehicle’s windshield wipers off when parking the vehicle.

NOTE:

  • Wireless charging systems are less efficient than conventional charging using a cable. As a result, higher device operating temperatures may be experienced during use and, thick phone cases may negatively affect charging speed and temperature.
  • Do not place credit cards or other magnetic media on the pad as they could be damaged by the magnetic field. In addition, avoid placing any metallic objects near the pad as they may impede charging performance.

FUEL REQUIREMENTS

Unleaded
Your new vehicle is designed to perform optimally using unleaded fuel having an octane number((R+M)/2) of 87 (Research Octane Number 91) or higher. (Do not use methanol blended fuels) Your new vehicle is designed to obtain maximum performance with UNLEADED FUEL, as well as minimize exhaust emissions and spark plug fouling.

NOTICE
To prevent damage to the engine and engine components, never add any fuel system cleaning agents to the fuel tank other than what has been specified. Consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer for additional information.

Gasoline containing alcohol and methanol
Gasohol, a mixture of gasoline and ethanol (also known as grain alcohol) is being marketed along with or instead of leaded or unleaded gasoline. For example, “E15” is a gasohol comprised of 15% ethanol and 85% gasoline. Do not use gasohol containing more than 10% ethanol, and do not use gasoline or gasohol containing any methanol. Either of these fuels may cause drivability problems and damage to the fuel system, engine control system, and emission control system. Discontinue using gasohol of any kind if drivability problems occur. “E85” fuel is an alternative fuel comprised of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline and is manufactured exclusively for use in Flexible Fuel Vehicles. “E85” is not compatible with your vehicle. Use of “E85” may result in poor engine performance and damage to your vehicle’s engine and fuel system. HYUNDAI recommends that customers do not use fuel with an ethanol content exceeding 15 percent.

NOTICE
To prevent damage to your vehicle’s engine and fuel system:

  • Never use gasohol which contains methanol.
  • Never use gasohol containing more than 15% ethanol.
  • Never use leaded fuel or leaded gasohol.
  • Never use “E85” fuel.

Your New Vehicle Limited Warranty does not cover damage to the fuel system or any performance problems caused by the use of “E85” fuel.

VEHICLE BREAK-IN PROCESS
By following a few simple precautions for the first 600 miles (1,000 km) you may add to the performance, economy, and life of your vehicle.

  • Do not race the engine.
  • While driving, keep your engine speed (rpm, or revolutions per minute) between 2,000 rpm and 4,000 rpm.
  • Do not maintain a single speed for long periods of time, either fast or slow. Varying engine speed is needed to properly break in the engine.
  • Fuel economy and engine performance may vary depending on the vehicle break-in process and be stabilized after 4,000 miles(6,000 km). New engines may consume more oil during the vehicle break-in period.
  • Avoid hard stops, except in emergencies, to allow the brakes to sit properly.
  • Fuel economy and engine performance may vary depending on the vehicle break-in process and be stabilized after 6,000 km (4,000 miles). New engines may consume more oil during the vehicle break-in period.
  • Do not tow a trailer during the first 1,200 miles (2,000km) of operation.
