Introduction
The Toyota Tundra is a full-size pickup truck manufactured by the Japanese automaker Toyota. It was first introduced in 1999 as a 2000 model year vehicle and has since undergone several redesigns and updates.
The first-generation Toyota Tundra was introduced in 1999 and was based on the Toyota T100 platform. It was powered by a 3.4-liter V6 engine or an optional 4.7-liter V8 engine. The first-generation Tundra featured a spacious interior with two or four doors, and advanced technologies such as an available navigation system, power adjustable pedals, and a rearview camera.
In 2007, the second-generation Toyota Tundra was introduced. It was redesigned with a new exterior design that featured a larger grille, and was available with a more powerful 5.7-liter V8 engine that produced up to 381 horsepower. In 2022, Toyota introduced the fourth-generation Tundra. It features a new exterior design with a more aggressive front fascia and updated LED headlights, as well as a new interior with a larger touchscreen display and updated materials. The 2022 Tundra is powered by a new 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that produces up to 389 horsepower and is available with a hybrid powertrain option that produces up to 437 horsepower. The fourth-generation Tundra also features advanced technologies such as a new 14-speaker JBL premium audio system and an updated infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
