Method 1: Check Coolant & Sensor

Scan Live Data: Use an OBD-II scanner to view live Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) readings. If the engine is physically hot but the sensor reports a low temperature, the ECT sensor is faulty and needs replacement.
Method 2: Replace Thermostat

Removal: Locate the thermostat housing (typically found where the upper or lower radiator hose connects to the engine block). Drain the cooling system, remove the housing bolts, and extract the old thermostat.

Installation: Install a new, OEM-spec thermostat and gasket. Refill the cooling system and bleed all trapped air to ensure efficient flow.
Warning: Never open the radiator cap while the engine is hot, as pressurized coolant can cause severe burns. Always use an OEM-spec thermostat, as aftermarket variants may not match the specific temperature ratings required by your Chevy's computer.
