Automatic Brake Hold on the 2022 Honda Civic retains hydraulic foot brake pressure after you come to a complete stop, allowing you to remove your right foot from the brake pedal while the transmission remains in Drive (D) or Neutral (N).
Prerequisites for Activation
Before activating the system, ensure:

The driver seatbelt is securely fastened.

The engine is running.

The driver door is completely closed.
How to Operate Automatic Brake Hold:

Step 1: Press the BRAKE HOLD button on the center console. A green "BRAKE HOLD System On" icon will illuminate on the instrument cluster.

Step 2: Press the foot brake pedal to bring the vehicle to a full stop.

Step 3: Once stopped, a second green "BRAKE HOLD" light illuminates on the dash. You can now release the foot brake pedal completely; the vehicle will remain stationary.

Step 4: Press the accelerator pedal to automatically release hydraulic pressure and drive away smoothly.
Important Safety Note: Automatic Brake Hold automatically converts to the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) and turns off if the vehicle remains stopped for more than 10 minutes, if the driver seatbelt is unbuckled, or if the engine is switched off.
