The capless filler system on a 2022 Honda Civic uses an internal dual-latch door that will not open for flexible plastic gas can spouts. You must use the factory-provided emergency fuel funnel to bypass the safety latches.
How to Refuel Using a Gas Can:

Step 1: Retrieve the Funnel. Open the trunk, lift the floor board, and retrieve the white plastic funnel located in the tool case next to the spare tire/tire repair kit.

Step 2: Insert the Funnel. Insert the small end of the funnel straight into the capless filler neck until it presses past both internal metal flaps.

Step 3: Pour the Fuel. Slowly pour fuel from your portable container directly into the funnel opening.

Step 4: Remove and Clean. Remove the funnel carefully, wipe it clean with a cloth, and return it to the trunk storage tray. Close the fuel door.
