Maintaining a sixth-generation (YF generation) 2011–2014 Hyundai Sonata requires tracking specific engine oil capacities across the 2.4L GDI and 2.0L Turbocharged Theta II engines, following factory service schedules, and conducting regular tire rotations:
Service Intervals

Every 3,750 Miles (or 6 Months) [Severe Schedule / Turbo Interval]: Change engine oil and filter on 2.0T Turbo models, rotate tires, and inspect air cleaner element under severe conditions (heavy stop-and-go driving, severe cold, dusty roads, or short trips).

Every 7,500 Miles (or 12 Months) [Normal Schedule]: Change engine oil and filter (2.4L GDI engine), rotate tires, inspect air cleaner filter, check brake lines, hoses, calipers, and pads/rotors.

Every 15,000 Miles (or 24 Months): Replace climate control cabin air filter. Inspect drive belts, fuel lines, steering gear, driveshafts, and suspension mounting bolts.

Every 30,000 Miles (or 48 Months): Replace engine air filter, inspect automatic transaxle fluid, and check brake fluid.

Every 45,000 Miles (or 36 Months): Replace spark plugs on 2.0L Turbo T-GDI models.

Tire Rotation Procedure
Rotate tires every 7,500 miles (or 3,750 miles under severe use) to balance tread wear across all four wheels.
For non-directional tires on FWD models, use the Forward Cross rotation pattern: move the rear tires to the opposite front positions (rear left to front right, rear right to front left), and move the front tires straight back to the rear. Torque wheel lug nuts to 65–80 lb-ft (88–108 Nm).
