Because the Dacia Duster is such great value, it begs the question of why anyone would ever want to pay more for a more costly vehicle. The Duster is able to compete in a market that is becoming more and more cutthroat despite not being the most exciting car to drive and having a dull interior. It boasts design elements from the Bigster idea and seems to be bigger than the existing model. Considering that the Bigster will stretch to about 4.6 metres (181 inches), in contrast to the departing Duster’s length of 4.32 metres (170 inches), the replacement will have room to develop. With its 17-inch wheels and Continental 215/65 all-season tyres, the new Duster maintains its high ground clearance. In order to give the side profile a more rough appearance, the turn signals have now been incorporated into the side mirror caps. Three different petrol models are available: a 1.0-litre TCe 90 with 89 horsepower, a 1.3-litre TCe engine with 128 or 148 horsepower, and a Blue dCi 115 diesel engine with 113 horsepower and the option of two- or four-wheel drive. The price list also includes the TCe 100 Bi-Fuel option. With the exception of the 148 horsepower petrol model, all variants come standard with a six-speed manual gearbox. You’ll need to upgrade to Expression trim or higher if you want 4×4 capability, which will cost you additional money. Upgraded inside materials, a leather-trimmed steering wheel and power rear windows are all pleasant additions and top- and mid-spec vehicles also come with an armrest and a useful 1.1-litre storage compartment. It’s still exceptionally roomy, with a capacity for up to five adults and a boot that can hold up to 445 litres with the back seats folded down.
