Tata FUSES Guide

Your vehicle has fuse boxes at three loca-tions. The vehicles electrical circuits have fuses to protect the wiring from short circuits or sustained overload.Tata Nexon BSVI Fuses and Fuse Box - fig 1

  1. Battery Mounted Fuse Box.
  2. Engine Compartment Fuse Box.
  3. Cabin Compartment Fuse Box.

Checking And Replacing Fuses
If any electrical unit in your vehicle is not functioning, check the fuses first. Please follow the steps below that will guide you to check and replace them.

  • Apply parking brake
  • Switch off all electrical accessories.
  • Turn the ignition key to the ‘LOCK’ po-sition.
  • In the fuse box, identify the defective fuse from its melted wire.

  • Remove the defective fuse by “fuse puller”. The fuse puller and spare fuses are provided in the engine compart-ment fuse box.

Engine compartment fuse box 

  • Defective fuses must be replaced with fuses of same rating, which you can recognize by color and value.

NOTE
Always make sure that the spare fuses are added.

  • Make sure that all other fuses are pressed firmly in position.
  • If a newly inserted fuse also blows, have the cause traced and rectified at nearest TATA MOTORS Authorized Dealer/Service Center immediately.

WARNING

  • If you manipulate or bridge a faulty fuse or if you replace it with a fuse with higher amperage, the electric cables could be overloaded. This could result in a fire. There is a risk of an accident and injury.
  • Always replace faulty fuses with the specified new fuses having the cor-rect amperage.

Cabin Compartment Fuse Box

Cover Removal Procedure
Fuse box is located inside the cover below steering column. To access the fuse box, remove cover as per procedure given below.

  1. Fuse box cover is mounted on dash board with the help of lugs at the top and bottom of the cover from inside.

  2. To remove the cover, gently pull the cover from upper side that the lugs get disengaged.

Re-fitment Procedure

How to Replace the Fuses of the Tata Nexon BSVI

Replacing the fuses in your Tata Nexon BSVI is a straightforward process, but it’s important to follow the proper steps to ensure safety and that you replace the correct fuse. Here’s how you can do it:

Materials:

  1. The new fuse of the correct amperage.
  2. Fuse puller or needle-nose pliers.

Steps to Replace Fuses

  • Turn Off the Vehicle: Ensure the ignition is in the ‘LOCK’ position, and all electrical accessories are switched off.​

  • Locate the Fuse Box:

    • Cabin Compartment Fuse Box: Situated inside the cover below the steering column. To access it, gently pull the cover from the bottom side to disengage the lugs.

    • Engine Compartment Fuse Box: Located within the engine bay.

    • Battery Mounted Fuse Box: Mounted directly on the battery.​

  • Identify the Blown Fuse: Inspect the fuses to find the one with a melted or broken wire inside.​

  • Remove the Blown Fuse: Use the fuse puller provided in the engine compartment fuse box to safely extract the faulty fuse.​

  • Replace with a New Fuse: Insert a new fuse of the same amperage rating into the slot. Ensure it fits securely.​

  • Reassemble: After replacing the fuse, reattach the fuse box cover by aligning and engaging the top and bottom mounting lugs with their respective slots on the dashboard, then press the cover firmly.

  • Tips:
    Always use a fuse with the correct amperage rating to prevent electrical issues or damage to the vehicle.
