Warning
Do not repair fuses and never replace a blown fuse with one that has a higher amp rating. This can cause damage to the electrical system and increases the risk of fire.
Note
If a new fuse burns out again shortly after you have installed it, have the electrical system checked as soon as possible by an authorised Audi dealer or authorised Audi Service Facility.

How to Replace the Fuse of the 2022 Audi Q5
Replacing the fuses in your 2022 Audi Q5 is a straightforward process, but it’s important to follow the proper steps to ensure safety and that you replace the correct fuse. Here’s how you can do it:
Materials:
- The new fuse of the correct amperage.
- Fuse puller or needle-nose pliers.
Steps to Replace Fuses
Locate the Fuse Box
- Main Fuse Box: The main fuse box is typically located in the engine compartment, near the battery.
- Interior Fuse Box: The interior fuse box is often located on the side of the dashboard, near the driver’s door, or under the footwell area on the driver’s side.
2. Turn Off the Vehicle
- Ensure the ignition is off, and the vehicle is in “Park” or “Neutral.” Disconnect the battery if necessary, especially for sensitive systems.
3. Open the Fuse Box
- Open the cover of the fuse box by pulling on the latch or releasing the clips that hold it in place.
4. Identify the Faulty Fuse
- Fuse Diagram: A fuse diagram is often printed on the fuse box cover or in the vehicle’s manual. Use this to identify the specific fuse for the component you need to repair (e.g., headlights, radio, etc.).
- Check the Fuse: Visually inspect the fuse. If the metal strip inside the fuse is broken or burned, the fuse is blown and needs to be replaced.
5. Remove the Blown Fuse
- Use the fuse puller tool (usually provided in the fuse box) to carefully remove the faulty fuse. If you don’t have a fuse puller, you can use needle-nose pliers to gently grasp and pull the fuse out.
6. Insert the New Fuse
- Check the new fuse’s amperage rating (which is usually printed on the fuse) and ensure it matches the blown fuse.
- Insert the new fuse into the appropriate slot, pressing it in until it is secure.
7. Test the New Fuse
- Turn the vehicle back on and test the component that the fuse controls to ensure it is working correctly.
8. Close the Fuse Box
- Once the fuse is replaced and everything is working properly, close the fuse box securely.
Tips:
-
- Always use a fuse with the correct amperage rating to prevent electrical issues or damage to the vehicle.
