FUSES

MOTOR COMPARTMENT

WARNING

Never touch, disassemble, remove, or replace the high-voltage parts and cables, as well as their connectors. High-voltage cables are colored orange. Touching, disassembling, removing, or replacing those parts and cables can cause severe burns or electric shock that may result in serious injury or death.
Never use a fuse of a higher or lower amperage rating than that specified on the fuse box cover. This could damage the electrical system or electronic control units or cause a fire.

If any electrical equipment does not operate, check for an open fuse.

Confirm that the power switch and the headlight switch are turned off.
Open the hood.
Remove the fuse/fusible link holder cover by pushing the tab and lifting the cover from the right side, and then the left side.
Locate the fuse that needs to be replaced.
Remove the fuse using the fuse puller located in the passenger compartment fuse box.
If the fuse is open OA, replace it with a new fuse OB.
If a new fuse also opens, have the electrical system checked, and if necessary, repaired. It is recommended that you visit a NISSAN-certified LEAF dealer for this service.

Fusible links
If any electrical equipment does not operate and the fuses are in good condition, check the fusible links in the holders 1O, 2O, and 3O. If any of these fusible links are melted, replace only with Genuine NISSAN
parts.
For checking and replacing the fusible links in the holders 1O, 2O, and 3O, it is recommended that you visit a Nissan-certified LEAF dealer for this service.

PASSENGER COMPARTMENT

WARNING
Never use a fuse of a higher or lower amperage rating than that specified on the fuse box cover. This could damage the electrical system or electronic control units or cause a fire.

If any electrical equipment does not operate, check for an open fuse.

Make sure that the power switch and the headlight switch are turned off.
Insert a screwdriver wrapped with the cloth OC into the slit 1O.
Use a cloth OC to protect the fuse box cover.
Then pull to remove the fuse box cover 2O.
Remove the fuse with the fuse puller 3O.
If the fuse is open OA, replace it with a new fuse OB.
If a new fuse also opens, have the electrical system checked, and if necessary repaired. It is recommended that you visit a NISSAN-certified LEAF dealer for this service.

Extended storage switch
If any electrical equipment does not operate, remove the extended storage switch and check for an open fuse.

NOTE:
The extended storage switch is used for long-term vehicle storage. Even if the extended storage switch is broken it is not necessary to replace it. Replace only the open fuse in the switch with a new one.

How to replace the extended storage switch:

To remove the extended storage switch, be sure the power switch is in the OFF position.
Be sure the headlight switch is in the OFF position.
Remove the fuse box cover.
Pinch the locking tabs 1O and 2O found on each side of the storage switch.
Pull the storage switch straight out from the fuse box 3O.

NISSAN INTELLIGENT KEY® BATTERY REPLACEMENT

CAUTION

Be careful not to allow children to swallow the battery and remove parts.
An improperly disposed battery can harm the environment. Always confirm local regulations for battery disposal.
When changing batteries, do not let dust or oil get on the components.
There is a danger of explosion if the lithium battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.

Replace the battery in the Intelligent Key as follows:

Remove the mechanical key from the Intelligent Key.
Insert a small screwdriver into the slit of the corner and twist it to separate the upper part from the lower part. Use a cloth to protect the casing.
Replace the battery with a new one. Recommended battery: CR2025 or equivalent
1. Do not touch the internal circuit and electric terminals as doing so could cause a malfunction.
2. Hold the battery by the edges. Holding the battery across the contact points will seriously deplete the storage capacity.
3. Make sure that the side faces the bottom of the case.
Align the tips of the upper and lower parts 1O, and then push them together 2O until it is securely closed.
Operate the buttons to check that it is functioning properly.
