Technical Specifications
Vehicle Identification Plate
Quote the details given on identification plate A on all letters or orders.
Vehicle identification plate A
The presence and location of the information depends on the vehicle.
- Manufacturer name.
EC design number or approval number.
Identification number. - MAM (Maximum Authorized Mass).
- GTW (Gross train weight: vehicle fully loaded, with trailer).
MPAW (Maximum Permissible Weight) for front axle.
MPAW on rear axle. - Reserved for related or additional entries.
Diesel exhaust emissions. 10 Paint reference (color code).
ENGINE IDENTIFICATION PLATES
The details given on engine plate A should be included with all correspondence and orders (location varies de-pending on engine).
- Engine type.
- Engine suffix.
- Engine number.

Towing weight (towing a caravan, boat, etc.)
Towing is prohibited when the GTW – MAM calculation is equal to zero, or when the GTW is equal to zero (or is not listed) on the identification plate.
- It is important to comply with the towing weights, governed by local legislation in each country and, in particular, laid down in the Road Traffic Regulations. Contact an authorized dealer for any towing equipment modifications.
For vehicles fitted with a trailer, the gross train weight (vehicle + trailer) must never be exceeded. However, the following is tolerated:
The Maximum permissible weight at the rear may be exceeded by no more than 15%,
The maximum permissible all-up weight may be exceeded by no more than 10% or 100 kg (whichever occurs first).
In either case, the maximum speed of the vehicle and trailer must not exceed 60 mph (100 km/h) and the tyre pressures must be increased by 0.2 bar (3 PSI). - The engine output and climbing capability are reduced with altitude. We recommend that the maximum load be reduced by 10% at an altitude of 1,000 metres and by an additional 10% for each 1,000 metres thereafter.
Weight transfer (depending on the vehicle)
If the Maximum Authorized Mass of the vehicle has not been reached, up to 200 kg can be transferred to the braked trailer, within the limits of the Gross Train Weight.

REPLACEMENT PARTS AND REPAIRS
Original parts are based on strict specifications and are subject to highly-specialised tests. Therefore, they are of at least the same level of quality as the parts fitted originally.
If you always fit genuine replacement parts to your vehicle, you will ensure that it performs well. Furthermore, repairs carried out within the manufacturer’s Network using original parts are guaranteed according to the conditions set out on the reverse of the repair order.
