REAR WINDOW AND OUTSIDE MIRROR DEFROSTER SWITCH

To defog/defrost the rear window glass and outside mirrors, start the engine and push the switch on. The indicator light will come on. Push the switch again to turn the defroster off. It will automatically turn off in approximately 15 minutes.

CAUTION
When cleaning the inner side of the rear window, be careful not to scratch or damage the rear window defroster.

WINDSHIELD DEICER SWITCH (if so equipped)

The windshield deicer switch (defroster switch) operates when the ignition switch is in the ON position. The deicer is used to remove ice from the windshield when a wiper is frozen to the windshield. When the switch is pushed, the indicator light illuminates and the deicer operates for approximately 15 minutes. The rear window defroster will activate at the same time. After the preset time has passed, the deicer will turn off automatically. To turn off the deicer manually, push the deicer switch again, and the indicator light turns off.

CAUTION
When operating the deicer continuously, be sure to start the engine. Otherwise, it may cause the battery to discharge. When cleaning the inner side of the window, be careful not to scratch or damage the electrical conductors on the surface of the window.

HEADLIGHT AND TURN SIGNAL SWITCH

HEADLIGHT SWITCH Lighting

1. HEADLIGHT SWITCH Lighting position: The front parking, side marker, tail, license plate, and instrument lights will come on. The antilight system will be set (Type B).
2. Turn the switch to the position: Headlights will come on and all the other lights remain on.

Intelligent Auto Headlight system (Type A) (if so equipped)
The Intelligent Auto Headlight system allows the headlights to be set so they turn on and off automatically.

To set the Intelligent Auto Headlight system:

1. Make sure the headlight switch is in the AUTO position.
2. Place the ignition switch in the ON position.
3. The Intelligent Auto Headlight system automatically turns the headlights on and off.

To turn the Intelligent Auto Headlight system off, turn the headlight switch to the OFF, or position. The Intelligent Auto Headlight system can turn on the headlights automatically when it is dark and turn off the headlights when it is light. The headlights will also be turned on automatically at twilight or in rainy weather (when the windshield wiper is operated continuously). If the ignition switch is placed in the OFF position and one of the doors is opened and this condition is continued, the headlights remain on for 5 minutes.

Automatic headlights off delay:
You can keep the headlights on for up to 180 seconds after you place the ignition switch in the OFF position and open any door then close all the doors. You can adjust the period of the automatic headlights off delay from 0 seconds (OFF) to 180 seconds. The factory default setting is 45 seconds.

Be sure not to put anything on top of the photosensor located on the top of the instrument panel. The photo sensor controls the Intelligent Auto Headlight system; if it is covered, the photo sensor reacts as if it is dark and the headlights will illuminate.

Auto light system (Type B) (if so equipped)
The auto light system allows the headlights to be set so they turn on and off automatically.

To set the auto light system:

1. Make sure the headlight switch is in the AUTO position or position.
2. Place the ignition switch in the ON position.
3. The antilight system automatically turns the headlights on and off.

To turn the antilight system off, turn the switch to the position. The antilight system can turn on the headlights automatically when it is dark and turn off the headlights when it is light. If the ignition switch is turned to the ON position when the parking brake is applied, the headlights remain off. With the position selected, the headlights turn off when the ignition switch is placed in the OFF position, the shift lever is in the P (Park) position, or the parking brake is applied. (The front parking, tail, license plate, and instrument lights are on.)

How to turn off all lights:
With the AUTO position selected, all lights turn off when the engine is restarted after the parking brake is applied.

NOTE:
When driving at night, the headlights remain on and cannot be turned off. When the vehicle is stopped, the headlights can be turned off when the headlight switch is in position. With the AUTO position selected (headlights are on), the headlights will remain on for 5 minutes when the ignition switch is placed in the OFF position and one of the doors is opened.

Automatic headlights off delay:

Headlight beam select

1. To select the low beam, put the lever in the neutral position as shown.
2. To select the high beam, push the lever forward while the switch is in position. Pull it back to select the low beam.
3. Pulling the lever toward you will flash the headlight high beam even when the headlight switch is in the OFF position (if so equipped).

High beam assist
The high beam assist system will operate when the vehicle is driven at approximately 25 MPH (40 km/h) and above. If an oncoming vehicle or leading vehicle appears in front of your vehicle when the headlight’s high beam is on, the headlight will be switched to the low beam automatically.

Precautions on high beam assist:

WARNING

• The high beam assist system is a convenience but it is not a substitute for safe driving operation. The driver should remain alert at all times, ensure safe driving practices and switch the high beam and low beam manually when necessary.
• The high beam or low beam may not switch automatically under the following conditions. Switch the high beam and low beam manually.
  •  During bad weather (rain, fog, snow, wind, etc.).
  • When a light source similar to a headlight or tail light is in the vicinity of the vehicle.
  •  When the headlights of the oncoming vehicle or the leading vehicle are turned off, when the color of the light is affected due to foreign materials on the lights, or when the light beam is out of position.
  •  When there is a sudden, continuous change in brightness.
  • When driving on a road that passes over rolling hills, or a road that has level differences.
  •  When driving on a road with many curves.
  • When a sign or mirror-like surface is reflecting intense light towards the front of the vehicle.
  • When the container, etc. being towed by a leading vehicle is reflecting intense light.
  • When a headlight on your vehicle is damaged or dirty.
    When the vehicle is leaning at an angle due to a punctured tire, being towed, etc.
• The timing of switching the low beam and high beam may change under the following situations.
  • The brightness of the headlights of the oncoming vehicle or leading vehicle.
  • The movement and direction of the oncoming vehicle and the leading vehicle.
  •  When only one light on the oncoming vehicle or the leading vehicle is illuminated.
  •  When the oncoming vehicle or the leading vehicle is a two-wheeled vehicle.
  •  Road conditions (incline, curve, road surface, etc.).
  •  The number of passengers and the amount of luggage.

High beam assist operations:
To activate the high beam assist system, turn the headlight switch to the AUTO position (or position, depending on the model) and push the lever forward (high beam position). The high beam assist indicator light in the meter will illuminate while the headlights are turned on. If the high beam assist indicator light does not illuminate in the above condition, it may indicate that the system is not functioning properly. Has the system been checked by a NISSAN dealer? When the vehicle speed lowers to less than approximately 16 MPH (25 km/h), the headlight remains the low beam. To turn off the high beam assist system, turn the headlight switch to the position or select the low beam position by placing the lever in the neutral position.

Ambient image sensor maintenance:
The ambient image sensor for the high beam assist system is located as shown. To keep the proper operation of the high beam assist system and prevent a system malfunction, be sure to observe the following: Always keep the windshield clean. Do not attach a sticker (including transparent material) or install an accessory near the ambient image sensor. Do not strike or damage the areas around the ambient image sensor. Do not touch the sensor lens that is located on the ambient image sensor. If the ambient image sensor is damaged due to an accident, contact a NISSAN dealer.

Battery saver system
A chime will sound when the driver-side door is opened with the headlight switch in the or position and the ignition switch in the OFF or LOCK position. When the headlight switch is in the or position while the ignition switch is in the ON position, the lights will automatically turn off after a period of time when the ignition switch has been pushed to the OFF position. When the headlight switch remains in the or position after the lights automatically turn off, the lights will turn on when the ignition switch is pushed to the ON position.

CAUTION
When you turn on the headlight switch again after the lights automatically turn off, the lights will not turn off automatically. Be sure to turn the headlight switch to the OFF (if so equipped) or the AUTO position when you leave the vehicle for extended periods of time, otherwise the battery will be discharged. Never leave the headlight switch on when the engine is not running for extended periods of time even if the headlights turn off automatically.

Daytime Running Light (DRL) system
The LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) automatically illuminate when the engine is started and the parking brake is released. The LED DRL operates with the headlight switch in the OFF (if so equipped), , or AUTO (when the headlights are off) position. When you turn the headlight switch to the position for full illumination, the LED lights switch from LED DRL to the park function.

Type A (if so equipped):
If the parking brake is applied before the engine is started, the LED DRL does not illuminate. The LED DRL illuminates when the parking brake is released. This feature will work in the , AUTO or OFF position. The LED DRL will remain on until the ignition switch is placed in the OFF position.

Type B (if so equipped):
If the parking brake is applied before the engine is started, the LED DRL does not illuminate.

The LED DRL illuminates when the parking brake is released. This feature will work in the AUTO or position. The LED DRL will remain on until the ignition switch is placed in the OFF position.

WARNING
When the LED DRL system is active with the headlight switch in the OFF position (if so equipped), the tail lights on your vehicle are not on. It is necessary at dusk to turn on your headlights. Failure to do so could cause an accident injuring yourself and others.

INSTRUMENT BRIGHTNESS CONTROL
The instrument brightness control switch (upper and lower ) can be operated when the ignition switch is in the ON position.

When the instrument brightness control switch is operated, the vehicle information display switches to the brightness adjustment mode. Push the upper switch to brighten the meter panel lights and instrument panel lights. Push the lower switch to dim the lights. If the bar reaches the maximum or minimum brightness, a chime will sound. The vehicle information display returns to the normal display when the instrument brightness control switch is not operated for more than 5 seconds.

TURN SIGNAL SWITCH

1. Turn signal
   Move the lever up or down to signal the turning direction. When the turn is completed, the turn signals cancel automatically.
2. Lane change signal
   • Move the lever up or down until the turn signal begins to flash, but the lever does not latch, to signal a lane change. Hold the lever until the lane change is completed.
   •  Move the lever up or down until the turn signal begins to flash, but the lever does not latch, and release the lever. The turn signal will automatically flash three times.

Choose the appropriate method to signal a lane change based on road and traffic conditions.

FOG LIGHT SWITCH (if so equipped
To turn the fog lights on, turn the headlight switch to the position, then turn the switch to the position. To turn them off, turn the switch to the OFF position. The headlights must be on with the low beams selected for the fog lights to operate. The fog lights automatically turn off when the high-beam headlights are selected.

HEATED STEERING WHEEL (if so equipped)

The heated steering wheel system is designed to operate only when the surface temperature of the steering wheel is below 68°F (20°C). Push the heated steering wheel switch to warm the steering wheel after the engine starts. The indicator light on the switch will illuminate. If the surface temperature of the steering wheel is below 68°F (20°C), the system will heat the steering wheel and cycle off and on to maintain a temperature above 68°F (20°C). The indicator light will remain on as long as the system is on. Push the switch again to turn the heated steering wheel system off manually. The indicator light will turn off.

NOTE:
If the surface temperature of the steering wheel is above 68°F (20°C) when the switch is turned on, the system will not heat the steering wheel. This is not a malfunction.

HORN

To sound the horn, push the center pad area of the steering wheel.

WARNING
Do not disassemble the horn. Doing so could affect the proper operation of the supplemental front airbag system. Tampering with the supplemental front airbag system may result in serious personal injury.

HEATED SEATS (if so equipped)

WARNING
Do not use or allow occupants to use the seat heater if you or the occupants cannot monitor elevated seat temperatures or have the inability to feel pain in body parts that contact the seat. Use of the seat heater by such people could result in serious injury.

CAUTION
The battery could run down if the seat heater is operated while the engine is not running. Do not use the seat heater for extended periods or when no one is using the seat. Do not put anything on the seat that insulates heat, such as a blanket, cushion, seat cover, etc. Otherwise, the seat may become overheated. Do not place anything hard or heavy on the seat or pierce it with a pin or similar object. This may result in damage to the heater. Any liquid spilled on the heated seat should be removed immediately with a dry cloth. When cleaning the seat, never use gasoline, thinner, or any similar materials. If any malfunctions are found or the heated seat does not operate, turn the switch off and have the system checked. It is recommended you visit a NISSAN dealer for this service.

FRONT (if so equipped)
The front seats can be warmed by built-in heaters. The switches located on the instrument panel can be operated independently of each other.

1. Start the engine.
2. Push the heated seat switch and select the desired heat range.
   • For high heat, push the switch once. . For medium heat, push the switch twice.
   • For low heat, push the switch three times.
   • The indicator light on the switch will illuminate depending on the heat level when the heater is on.
3. To turn off the heater, push the heated seat switch until the indicator light turns off.
4. The heater is controlled by a control module, automatically adjusting the heat level to maintain comfort according to the selected heat range.
5. The indicator light will remain on as long as the switch is on. When the vehicle’s interior is warmed, or before you leave the vehicle, be sure to turn off the seat heater.

REAR (if so equipped)
The 2nd row outboard seats are warmed by built-in heaters. The switches located on the back side of the center console can be operated independently of each other.

1. Start the engine.
2. Select heat range.
   1. For high heat, push the HI (High) side of the switch.
   2. For low heat, push the LO (Low) side of the switch.
   3. The indicator light in the switch will illuminate when the heater is on.
   4. To turn off the heater, return the switch to the level position. Make sure the indicator light turns off.
   5. The heater is controlled by a thermostat, automatically turning the heater on and off. The indicator light will remain on as long as the switch is on.
   6. When the vehicle’s interior is warmed, or before you leave the vehicle, be sure to turn off the switch.
