Introduction
The Stelvio was first introduced in 2016 at the Los Angeles Auto Show and was launched in the market in 2017. The Stelvio is named after the famous Stelvio Pass in the Italian Alps and is Alfa Romeo’s first-ever SUV.
Stelvio Pass, also known as Passo dello Stelvio in Italian, is a high mountain pass located in the eastern Alps in Italy, near the Swiss border. It is considered one of the most challenging and scenic mountain roads in the world, and attracts thousands of tourists and cyclists every year.
The history of Stelvio Pass dates back to the early 19th century, when it was first used by the Austrian Empire as a military route to connect Lombardy with the Tyrol region.
