2024 Fiat 500 Maintenance Schedule User Guide
For the 2024 Fiat 500 to operate at its best and last a long time, frequent maintenance is necessary. This article helps you keep your Fiat 500 in good working order and prevent future expensive repairs by outlining the entire maintenance schedule, which includes service intervals, suggested inspections, and necessary fluid checks.
SCHEDULED SERVICING
Correct servicing is crucial for guaranteeing a long life for the vehicle under the best conditions. For this reason, Fiat has planned a series of checks and services at fixed distance and/or time intervals, as described in the Service Schedule.
To keep the efficiency of the car in tip-top condition, in the following
Scheduled Service plan pages a few additional checks are listed that should be carried out more frequently with respect to the normal scheduled service deadline.
Scheduled Servicing
is offered by Fiat Dealerships according to fixed time or ilometres/ miles intervals. If, during each operation, in addition to the ones scheduled, the need arises for further replacements or repairs, these may be carried out with the owner’s explicit agreement only. If
your car is used frequently for towing, the interval between one scheduled servicing operation and the next should be reduced.
IMPORTANT NOTES
The scheduled service deadlines are set out by the Manufacturer. Failure to have them carried out may invalidate the warranty.

SERVICE SCHEDULE
WARNING Once you have carried out the last intervention in the table, continue with the scheduled servicing, maintaining
the frequency indicated in the plan by marking each operation with a dot or dedicated note.
Warning: simply restarting the maintenance from the start of the plan may cause the allowed interval to be exceeded for some operations.
- Topping up must be carried out with the fluids indicated in this Owner Handbook and only after checking that the system is undamaged.
- Check to be carried out every year for cars on the road in countries with particularly severe climates (cold countries).
- If the car is used mainly on urban routes or the annual distance travelled is less than 10,000 km, the engine oil and engine oil filter must be changed every year.
- For the 0.9 TwinAir versions (where provided), the following are essential to ensure correct operation: only use spark plugs of the same make and type which are specially certified for these engines (see the information in the “Engine” chapter of the “Technical specifications” section); strictly comply with the spark plug replacement frequency given in the service schedule; for spark plug replacement, it is advisable to contact a Fiat Dealership.
- The maximum mileage is 120,000 km / 72,000 mi (for 0.9 TwinAir, where provided, and 1.2 8V versions) or 150,000 km / 90,000 mi (for the 1.0 FireFly version). The belt must be replaced every 6 years, regardless of distance travelled. In the case of demanding use of the car (dusty areas, especially severe weather conditions, very low or very high temperatures for extended periods, urban driving, long periods of idling), the maximum mileage is 60,000 km / 36,000 mi (for 0.9 TwinAir, where provided, and 1.2 8V versions) or 75,000 km / 45,000 mi (for the 1.0 FireFly version). The belt must be replaced every 4 years regardless of the mileage.
- If the vehicle is used in dusty areas, this filter should be replaced every 15,000 km / 9,000 mi
- The brake fluid replacement has to be done every two years, regardless of the mileage.
- If the vehicle is mainly used in towns and cities and does not exceed the mileage shown on the scheduled servicing plan, change the engine oil and filter every year.
- The inspection, and if necessary the replacement, must be performed according to mileage and regardless of the elapsed time.

PERIODIC CHECKS
Every 1,000 km or before long journeys, check and, if necessary, top up:
- engine coolant level;
- brake fluid level;
- windscreen washer fluid level;
- tyre inflation pressure and condition; operation of lighting system (headlights, direction indicators, hazard warning lights, etc.);
- operation of screen washer/wiper system and positioning/wear of
windscreen/rear window wiper blades. Every 3,000 km check and top up if required: engine oil level. - You are advised to use PETRONAS LUBRICANTS products, which have been designed and produced specifically for Fiat cars (see table “Capacities” in the “Technical specifications” section).
DEMANDING USE OF THE CAR
If the car is mainly used in one of the following particularly harsh conditions:
- towing a trailer or caravan;
- dusty roads;
- short, repeated journeys (less than 7-8 km) at sub-zero outside temperatures;
- engine often idling or driving long distances at low speeds or long periods of inactivity;
perform the following inspections more frequently than shown on the Service Schedule
- check front disc brake pad condition and wear;
- check cleanliness of bonnet and boot locks, cleanliness and lubrication of linkage;
- visually inspect conditions of: engine, gearbox, transmission, pipes and hoses (exhaust/fuel system/brakes) and rubber elements (gaiters/sleeves/bushes, etc.);
- check battery charge and battery fluid level (electrolyte);
- visually inspect conditions of the accessory drive belts;
- check and, if necessary, change engine oil and replace oil filter;
- check and, if necessary, replace cabin air filter;
- check and, if necessary, replace air cleaner.
