2025 Fiat Ulysse Parking Sensors User Guide

Advanced parking sensor technology is available in the 2025 Fiat Ulysse, which is intended to increase driver safety and trust. This device makes parking in confined places easier and more accurate by providing real-time alerts about surrounding impediments. Find out how these sensors enhance the comfort and peace of mind of daily driving.

Parking sensors

For more information, refer to the General recommendations on the use of driving and manoeuvring aids.

2025 Fiat Ulysse Parking Sensors-fig 1This system detects and signals the proximity of obstacles (e.g. pedestrian, vehicle, tree, barrier) using sensors located in the bumper.

Rear parking sensors
System startup is available under the following conditions:

  • when reverse gear is engaged.
  • when the vehicle is moving backwards (e.g. downhill, in neutral).

It is indicated by an audible confirmation signal and a display indication.

If an obstacle is detected as soon as the reverse gear is engaged, an audible detection signal is given directly instead of the audible confirmation signal.

If no audible signal is given, the display indication is not shown or a warning message appears, the system has a failure.

Audible assistance2025 Fiat Ulysse Parking Sensors-fig 2

Depending on version, in the example shown, only the obstacles present in the shaded area will be signalled by the audible assistance. The system signals the presence of obstacles which are both within the sensors’ detection zone and in the vehicle path defined by the direction of the steering wheel.2025 Fiat Ulysse Parking Sensors-fig 3

The proximity information is given by an intermittent audible signal, the frequency of which increases as the vehicle approaches the obstacle.
When the distance between the vehicle and the obstacle becomes less than about thirty centimetres, the audible signal becomes continuous.
The sound emitted by the speaker (right or left) indicates the side on which the obstacle is located.
The audible signal is automatically suspended when the vehicle is stationary for a few seconds.
The audible signal is automatically restored when the vehicle is moving again or if the obstacle approaches the vehicle.

Adjusting the audible detection signal
2025 Fiat Ulysse Parking Sensors-fig 11Pressing this button opens the window for adjusting the volume of the audible signal.

Pressing this button mutes/unmutes the audible signal. A message is displayed to indicate that the audible signal is temporarily muted.

Visual assistance2025 Fiat Ulysse Parking Sensors-fig 4

This supplements the audible signal, without taking account of the vehicle’s trajectory, by displaying bars on the screen whose location represents the distance between the obstacle and the vehicle (white: more distant, orange: close, red: very close).
When the obstacle is very close, the “Danger” symbol is displayed on the screen.

Closing the system display window
Pressing this button closes the system display window.

2025 Fiat Ulysse Parking Sensors-fig 5This warning lamp flashes during obstacle detection on the instrument panel

Muting the audible assistance / Closing the visual assistance
If the audible detection signal is muted or the system display window is closed manually by the driver with the button above during the obstacle detection, only the warning lamp continues to flash on the instrument panel.

Front parking sensors
Supplementing the rear parking sensors, the front parking sensors are triggered when an obstacle is detected in front and the speed of the vehicle is below 6 mph (10 km/h).
Front parking sensor operation is suspended if the vehicle stops for more than three seconds in forward gear, if an obstacle is no longer detected or the vehicle speed exceeds 6 mph (10 km/h).

The sound emitted by the speaker(front or rear) locates the obstacle relative to the vehicle, in front or behind it.

Side parking sensors2025 Fiat Ulysse Parking Sensors-fig 6
Using four additional sensors located on the sides of the bumpers, the system records the position of obstacles during the manoeuvre and indicates them when they are located alongside the vehicle.
Only fixed obstacles are indicated correctly. Moving obstacles detected at the beginning of the manoeuvre may be indicated mistakenly, while moving obstacles that appear alongside the vehicle but were not previously recorded will not be indicated.
Objects memorised during the manoeuvre will no longer be stored after switching off the ignition.

Deactivation/Activation (Depending on country of sale)
By default, the audible signal is automatically activated at each time the reverse gear is engaged.

The system cannot be deactivated.

With Radio Touch

The settings are changed via the Driving touch screen menu.

With Uconnect 10″ Nav – Uconnect 10″
2025 Fiat Ulysse Parking Sensors-fig 8You can start the system manually and activate/deactivate the audible signal in the ADAS touch screen application.

2025 Fiat Ulysse Parking Sensors-fig 9

The rear parking sensors are deactivated automatically if a trailer or bicycle carrier is connected to a towing device installed in accordance with the Manufacturer’s recommendations.
In this case, the outline of a trailer is displayed at the rear of the image of the vehicle.

When starting the vehicle, the graphic and audible aids are only available after the touch screen has started up.

Operating limits
If the boot is heavily loaded, the vehicle may tilt, affecting distance measurements.
In case of a gearbox failure, the system is not active, when the reverse gear is engaged.

Malfunction
In case of display or speakers malfunction (e.g. frozen image, black screen), the system may be disturbed or unavailable.

2025 Fiat Ulysse Parking Sensors-fig 5

In the event of vehicle malfunction that requires the vehicle to be stopped, the system may be deactivated.

In the event of a temporary malfunction (e.g. untimely triggering due to external noise sources or other interferences), this warning lamp lights up on the instrument panel, accompanied by the display of a message and an audible signal (short beep).
In the event of a permanent malfunction, this warning lamp lights up on the instrument panel, accompanied by the display of a message and an audible signal (long beep).
Have it checked by a Fiat Dealership or a qualified workshop.

2025 Fiat Ulysse Parking Sensors-fig 5This warning lamp lights up on the instrument panel with the message “Parking Assistance Sensor blind: Clean sensor, see User Manual” if the sensor is masked.
This is a normal behavior, which does not  request the support of a qualified workshop. In this case, stop the vehicle and verify if the front and/or rear sensors are covered by dirt, mud, sand, snow, ice or anything preventing the sensing.
The system is operational again after the detection field has been cleaned.

Dynamic Surround Vision

For more information, refer to the General recommendations on the use of driving and manoeuvring aids.
When the ignition is switched on, to improve the visibility of the side blind spot on the passenger side and the rear of the vehicle, this system uses two cameras to record and display views of the vehicle’s immediate environment on the interior rear view mirror (panel van or fitted with a solid partition).2025 Fiat Ulysse Parking Sensors-fig 10

  1. Switches from digital to optical mode and vice versa
  2. Setting mode (camera angle or brightness adjustment)
  3. Left arrow button to adjust the settings
  4. Right arrow button to display lateral view and monitoring rear view or to adjust the settings (depending on the context)
When the ignition is on, the mirror displays the following symbol during 5 seconds:

2025 Fiat Ulysse Parking Sensors-fig 11

This symbol appears in the same place as the physical button that allows access to the setting menu.

2025 Fiat Ulysse Parking Sensors-fig 12This symbol appears in the same place as the physical button that allows to navigate between the views.

The brightness of the display is adapted to the environment by automatic dimming.

This system has two sub-functions:2025 Fiat Ulysse Parking Sensors-fig 13

  • Passenger side view: shows the area at the passenger side of the vehicle. The orange line A is displayed to inform the driver about the distance of the obstacles from the rear bumper. This function is used to assist in overtaking.
    2025 Fiat Ulysse Parking Sensors-fig 14
  • Surveillance rear view: shows a long-distance view of the area at the rear.

Please routinely check your exterior mirrors while driving and during manoeuvres.

Some items may not be seen by the rear camera.
Certain vehicles may be difficult to see (dark colours, lamps off) when the brightness of the screen is reduced using the vehicle’s lighting dimmer.
The image quality may be affected by the environment, the exterior conditions (rain, dirt, dust), the driving mode and the lighting conditions (night, low sun). In the presence of areas in shade, or in conditions of bright sunlight or inadequate lighting, the image may be darkened and with lower contrast.
Obstacles may appear further away than they actually are.
During parking manoeuvres and lane changes, it is important to check the sides of the vehicle using the mirrors.
The rear parking sensors also supplement the information on the vehicle’s surroundings.

Activation / Deactivation
The system starts when the ignition is switched on.
Press the button 1 to switch to numerical or standard mode.

The standard mode allows you to use the interior mirror without the camera. When the numerical mode is activated, a camera symbol appears in the upper left corner.

2025 Fiat Ulysse Parking Sensors-fig 15The function is automatically paused (the reproduction screen becomes grey) when the rear door or the front passenger door are opened and opened door symbol is displayed on the screen of the rear view mirror. The function is automatically redisplayed when the rear door or the front passenger door is closed.
When the displays is automatically paused, it is possible to display the last image displayed before the doors are opened.

  • Press and hold button 4 bellow the interior rear view mirror.

The user setting and the on/off mode is memorised after the ignition is switched off.

Operating limits
The system may be disrupted (or even damaged) and not work in the following situations:

  • Installation of a bicycle carrier on the tailgate or side-hinged door (depending on version).
  • Attachment of a trailer to the towball.
  • Driving with a door open.

Please note, the cameras must not be obscured (by a sticker, a bicycle carrier, etc.).

The field of vision of the rear camera (surveillance rear view and visual reversing aid) may vary depending on the load in the vehicle.
If the side-hinged door is opened during use of the surveillance rear view or the visual aid for reversing, in forward gear or reverse gear, the output screen becomes grey.
If the front passenger door is opened during use of the passenger side view, in forward gear or reverse gear, the output screen becomes grey.
If a trailer is attached to the towball, when reverse gear is engaged the
visual reversing aid will no longer work until the trailer is disconnected. The surveillance rear view becomes the default view.
If the system develops a malfunction, go to a Fiat Dealership to avoid any safety problems.
