Lexus Front Seats Guide

This feature automatically adjusts the positions of the driver’s seat, steering wheel, outside rearview mirrors and head-up display (if equipped) to make entering and exiting the vehicle easier or to suit your preferences. Up to 3 different driving positions can be recorded. Each electronic key (including a card key) can be registered to recall your preferred driving position.
Power easy access system
When all of the following have been performed, the driver’s seat and steering wheel are automatically adjusted to a position that allows the driver to enter and exit the vehicle easily.
- The shift lever has been shifted to P.
- The power switch has been turned off.
- The driver’s seat belt has been unfastened.
When any of the following has been performed, the driver’s seat and steering wheel automatically return to their original positions.
- The power switch has been turned to ACCESSORY mode or ON mode.
- The driver’s seat belt has been fastened.
Operation of the power easy access system
- When exiting the vehicle, the power easy access system may not operate if the seat is already in the rearmost or uppermost position or close to the rear seat.
- If the seat position is adjusted during power easy access system operation, the automatic operation will stop. (The seat will change to manual operation.)
- If the seat position is adjusted during or after the power easy access system operation when the driver is exiting the vehicle, the power easy access system will not operate when entering the vehicle.

Recording a driving position into memory
- Check that the shift lever is in P.
- Turn the power switch to ON mode.
- Adjust the driver’s seat, steering wheel, outside rearview mirrors and head-up display (if equipped) to the desired positions.
- While pressing the “SET” button, or within 3 seconds after the “SET” button is pressed, press button “1”, “2” or “3” until the buzzer sounds.
If the selected button has already been preset, the previously recorded position will be overwritten.
Seat positions that can be memorized

If a seat position is already in the furthest possible position and the seat is operated in the same direction, the recorded position may be slightly different when it is recalled.

Recalling a driving position
- Check that the shift lever is in P.
- Turn the power switch to ON mode.

Perform any of the following
- Press the “SET” button.
- Press buttons “1”, “2” or “3”.
- Operate any of the seat adjustment switches (only cancel seat position recall).

Recorded seat positions can be activated up to 180 seconds after the driver’s door is opened and another 60 seconds after it is closed again.
When the recorded seat position cannot be recalled

Registering/cancelling/recalling a driving position to an electronic key (including a card key) (memory recall function)
Registering procedure
Record your driving position to button “1”, “2” or “3” before performing the following:
Carry only the key you want to register, and then close the driver’s door. If 2 or more keys are in the vehicle, the driving position cannot be recorded properly.
- Check that the shift lever is in P.
- Turn the power switch to ON mode.
- Recall the driving position that you want to record.
- While pressing the recalled button, press and hold the door lock switch (either lock or unlock) until the buzzer sounds.
If the button cannot be registered, the buzzer sounds continuously for approximately 3 seconds.
Cancellation procedure
- Carry only the key you want to cancel and then close the driver’s door.
If 2 or more keys are in the vehicle, the driving position cannot be cancelled properly. - Check that the shift lever is in P.
- Turn the power switch to ON mode.
- While pressing the “SET” button, press and hold the door lock switch (either lock or unlock) until the buzzer sounds twice.
If the button cannot be cancelled, the buzzer sounds continuously for approximately 3 seconds.
Recall procedure
- Make sure that the doors are locked before recalling the driving position. Carry the electronic key that has been registered to the driving position, and then unlock and open the driver’s door using the smart access system with push-button start or wireless remote control.
The driving position will move to the recorded position (not including the steering wheel and head-up display [if equipped]). However, the seat will move to a position slightly behind the recorded position in order to make entering the vehicle easier. If the driving position is in a position that has already been recorded, the seat and outside rearview mirrors will not move. - Turn the power switch to ACCESSORY mode or ON mode, or fasten a seat belt.
The seat, steering wheel and head-up display (if equipped) will move to the recorded position.
Recalling the driving position using the memory recall function
- Different driving positions can be registered for each electronic key. Therefore, the driving position that is recalled may be different depending on the key being carried.
- If the door other than the driver’s door is unlocked with the smart access system with a push-button start, the driving position cannot be recalled. In this case, press the driving position button which has been set.
Customization
The unlock door settings of the memory recall function can be changed.
Head restraints
Head restraints are provided for all seats.

- Lexus recommends that children be seated in the rear seat and always use a seat belt and/or an appropriate child restraint system.
- To achieve a proper seating position, do not recline the seat more than necessary. The seat belt is most effective when the occupants are sitting up straight and well back in the seats.
- Do not wear the shoulder belt under your arm.
- Always wear your seat belt low and snug across your hips.
Pregnant women
Obtain medical advice and properly wear a seat belt. Pregnant women should position the lap belt as low as possible over the hips in the same manner as other occupants, extending the shoulder belt completely over the shoulder and avoiding belt contact with the rounding of the abdominal area. If the seat belt is not worn properly, not only the pregnant woman but also the fetus could suffer death or serious injury as a result of sudden braking or a collision.

- Do not damage the seat belts by allowing the belt, plate, or buckle to be jammed in the door.

- Do not use the seat belt extender when installing a child restraint system because the belt will not securely hold the child restraint system, increasing the risk of death or serious injury in the event of an accident.
- The personalized extender may not be safe on another vehicle when used by another person or at a different seating position other than the one originally intended.
NOTICE
When using a seat belt extender
When releasing the seat belt, press the buckle release button on the extender, not on the seat belt. This helps prevent damage to the vehicle interior and the extender itself.
Fastening and releasing the seat belt
- To fasten the seat belt, push the plate into the buckle until a click sound is heard.
- To release the seat belt, press the release button A.
Emergency locking retractor (ELR)
The retractor will lock the belt during a sudden stop or on impact. It may also lock if you lean forward too quickly. A slow, easy motion will allow the belt to extend so that you can move around fully.
Automatic locking retractor (ALR)
When a passenger’s shoulder belt is com-pletely extended and then retracted even slightly, the belt is locked in that position and cannot be extended. This feature is used to hold a child restraint system (CRS) firmly. To free the belt again, fully retract the belt and then pull the belt out once more.

The pretensioners do not activate in the event of a minor frontal impact, a minor side impact or a rear impact.
Replacing the belt after the pretensioner has been activated
If the vehicle is involved in multiple collisions, the pretensioner will activate for the first collision but not for the second or subsequent collisions.

Observe the following precautions to reduce the risk of injury in the event of sudden braking, sudden swerving or an accident. Failure to do so may cause death or serious injury.
- Do not place anything, such as a cushion, on the front passenger’s seat. Doing so will disperse the passenger’s weight, which prevents the sensor from detecting the passenger’s weight properly. As a result, the seat belt pretensioner for the front passenger’s seat may not activate in the event of a collision.
- If the pretensioner has activated, the SRS warning light will come on. In that case, the seat belt cannot be used again and must be replaced at your Lexus dealer.
